Özet
Abstract Ti6 Al4 V alloy is used in many areas such as aviation, space and biomaterials due to its high mechanical properties and low density. It has been widely studied in the literature due to its superior properties in engineering applications. Ti6 Al4 V, especially produced by powder metallurgy (PM), can be subjected to various surface coating processes after production. In this study, the effects of sintering temperature and thermochemical coating process on the microstructural and mechanical properties of Ti6 Al4 V alloy were investigated. The microstructural changes of the alloy sintered at 800∘ C, 1000∘ C and 1200∘ C were analyzed. Since the best mechanical properties were obtained at 1200∘ C, coating with Ekabor-II (90% SiC, 5% B4 C, 5% KBF4) was applied to the sample produced at this temperature. SEM and EDX analyses showed parameter changes in α and β phases and the formation of boron …
