| INTRODUCTION: This study was performed descriptively to investigate true and falses known by the mothers about mother milk and breastfeeding.METHODS: The study was performed with 250 mothers whose infants between 0-2 years old were hospitalized in Research and Training Hospital between January 1-March 1, 2015. A questionnaire including 32 questions and a descriptive form including 34 statements which were evaluating knoledge of the mothers about mother milk and breastfeeding were used as data collection tools. Statistical analyses were used for the assessment of data.RESULTS: Mean age of the mothers in the study was 28.7 years; 27.6% were elementary school graduates and 87.2% were housewives.
