| In this study, a model based on fuzzy logic classifier was created in order to determine the values of modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.). These values are the most important mechanical properties of wood. And such values change according to the various factors. One of the most important factors is grain direction of fiber into wood. Certainly, the effects of each grain direction on these values can be determined experimentally. But these experiments are very require time for the manufacturers. For this purpose, modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture values were measured depending on grain direction of scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) wood. Input and output values and rule base of fuzzy logic classifier were constituted. With the fuzzy logic classifier model prepared in Matlab Simulink, BS and MOE values for grain angle were predicted. It was observed that the fuzzy logic classifier predicted of these values with 93.93-70.55% accuracy. With this system, for the manufacture of wood-composite materials, the most appropriate grain direction of fibers required by the manufacturer could be determined. |
